Modern Prairie

Sustainability meets luxury in this 5,184 square foot LEED Platinum Certified, Net Zero Energy home. Our client was the builder whose design was influenced by the Prairie style architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright. He was looking for a warm, modern interior that would complement the home’s aesthetic. When sourcing materials, innovation, exceptional quality, and a connection to nature all were essential. Our team hand-selected every detail — custom cabinetry and millwork, rift sawn walnut hardwood floors, reclaimed pine for ceiling cladding, domestically sourced marble for the herringbone floors, shell stone, a custom glass tile fireplace design, and all other finishes and materials. The eco-friendly fireplace uses bioethanol fuel, which is readily available and one of the cleanest and most efficient fuel sources available today. Finally, we selected sustainable furnishings and fabrics with low VOC emissions such as linen, wool, and cotton to improve interior air quality in terms of both health and comfort. This forward-thinking project allowed us to showcase our strengths creatively while thinking sustainably.
